Week 3 Class Time Activities
ACTIVITY 1. Review the assignment
Narrative Writing (1 true, 1 fictional story) -- 2 stories draft due in 2 or 3 weeks.
The first assignment is to write two stories, one fiction and one true. Telling stories is a great for developing writing and communication skills. In 2 or 3 weeks, you will share the stories and other members of the class will try to guess which is fictional! (My example you read last week is here - with comments here).
ACTIVITY 2. Practicing writing basics (transition phrases & verb tenses)
Using transition phrases & accurate grammar makes your stories easier to imagine. Practicing this also helps your overall English ability.

ACTIVITY 3.
Sharing your 3+ story ideas your submitted last week (not your full stories) to your group to get feedback
Reason 1: Good writers consider the audience (the readers; i.e., classmates who will read your finished assignment) carefully when planning and writing. Will classmates be interested in the story ideas? Were the stories believable? Did they think the ideas were too unbelievable? Too common? (They will also check to see if the idea was a past tense story - not a present situation - since this assignment is supposed to be a past story).
You can use this feedback to choose 2 stories, which you will later write about.
Reason 2: The classmates will ask questions about your story ideas. This will help you know what to write about. (These are questions they want answers to, so make sure your story you later will write includes this information.)
Other homework:
Write another blog (after signing into Google, go to blogger.com and click 新しい投稿)& comment on classmates' blogs (in your group).
